ARC, is the former Nokia headquarters building, completed in 1997 and long home to major corporations. The building has now been opened for the first time as a large-scale, open office campus, bringing together multiple tenants and shared services.
Franz was involved in the project from the very beginning, developing a new concept and brand identity for ARC. Through workshops and close collaboration with the property owner, service designers and an advertising agency, a cohesive identity was created and implemented throughout the spaces in a functional, visual and user experience–driven way.
On the ground floor, the lobby areas were renewed and views were opened toward the sea to accommodate a new restaurant. The restaurant spaces were designed as a unified whole connecting the large atrium with a new seafront-facing area, bringing natural light and the surrounding landscape strongly into the campus experience.
The second floor houses shared co-working spaces and a centralized meeting center serving all tenants, supporting flexible working and spontaneous encounters.
The interior design draws inspiration from soap-bubble–like tones and light reflections, combined with the building’s original material palette of steel, glass and wood. The result is a timeless and experiential environment where ARC’s new concept integrates seamlessly with the building’s architecture and history.
