The Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region (Hoas) moved into its new headquarters at Hoas Huippu in Pasila in May 2026.
The design brief focused on creating comfortable and functional premises for staff, as well as customer service facilities and a reading room for students. The headquarters includes a spacious lobby area that can serve as a waiting area for students, an extension space for a restaurant to be completed later, and an event venue for staff gatherings. The workspaces combine open-plan offices with private offices and meeting rooms, all featuring a calm and understated color palette. Brighter colors have been incorporated into the flexible work lounges and break areas to enhance relaxation and comfort. Abundant greenery further adds a warm and welcoming atmosphere to the premises.
The building emphasizes the use of durable materials, with considerations such as M1 emission classification standards. Wherever possible, Finnish-made furniture was selected for the loose furnishings. Some of Hoas´ spaces also incorporate reused furniture and surplus textile carpeting. The color scheme reflects Hoas´ brand colors, though they have been applied in softer, muted tones.
The result is a versatile and timeless workplace that meets the needs of Hoas employees and is designed to serve them well for decades to come.
